This policy explains what personal information Ask Mr. JM (“we”, “us”) collects through Ask Mr. JM, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We are the data controller for this information.

1. What we collect
- Contact & lead details you submit — name, email, phone, company, and any message you send.
- Booking details — the name, email, phone, date and notes you provide when you book.
- Purchase details — when you buy, our payment processor collects your payment information; we receive the purchase record (item, amount, email) but never your full card number.
- Email & SMS engagement — whether messages we send were delivered, and your replies.
- Basic usage data — pages visited and a first-party visitor identifier, used to understand site usage. Your IP address is processed transiently for security/rate-limiting and is not used to profile you.
2. Why we use it & our legal basis
- To respond to you and provide what you asked for (contract / your request).
- To send marketing emails — only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time via the unsubscribe link in every email.
- To run and secure the site (our legitimate interest in a working, non-abused service).
- To meet legal, tax and accounting duties for purchases.
3. Who we share it with (processors)
We use trusted service providers to run this business. Each processes your data only to provide its service to us. Providers are US-based; where data of EU/UK residents is involved, transfers rely on those providers’ Standard Contractual Clauses and/or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Only the providers we have actually enabled apply to you.

We do not sell your personal information.
4. How long we keep it
We keep contact and lead data for as long as we have a relationship with you plus a reasonable follow-up period, purchase records for as long as tax and accounting rules require, and basic usage data for up to 24 months. You can ask us to delete your data sooner (see below).
5. Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct, delete, export, or restrict the use of your personal information, and to object to marketing. To unsubscribe from emails, use the link at the bottom of any email. For anything else, email Ask Mr. JM <receipts@guides.askmrjm.com> and we will respond within a reasonable time.
6. Cookies
We use a first-party cookie to keep you signed in and a first-party visitor identifier to measure site usage. We do not run third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
7. Children
This site is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
8. Changes
We may update this policy; the “last updated” date above reflects the latest version.
